We love our renovated master bath that David designed. We knew what we wanted to keep and we knew the type of shower we were hoping could be put in. David listened, developed 3 designs and presented them. We immediately knew one of them was the right one. David also recommended the contractor we ended up going with for the work. During the renovation when problems arose as I think they always will David was available for consultation and advice. The renovation took more time than we expected but it was totally worth it to take our time and get each part as we wanted and the final result is wonderful!

My house needed a lot of work before I moved in. I needed someone with experience, knowledge, and a good sense of style, to take care of the many different aspects of the entire renovation process. David fulfilled all those requirements. He managed everything - bathroom renovation, painting all the rooms, refinishing the hardwood floor - and made sure all the jobs were done properly, and all details were taken care of.
My bathroom needed a total renovation. New sink, new vanity, new toilet, new medicine cabinet, new tiles on the floor and around the tub. The result is beautiful.
The refinished floor looks great, like new, and it was in bad shape before. The paint job throughout the house was very nicely done. You can tell professionals did it. (I was thinking of doing some of it myself. Glad I didn't!)
During the whole process, David was great to work with. He was a font of practical information, ideas, and suggestions. Very importantly, he wanted to make sure that my own style was expressed, and did extensive research to find the best options that suited my preferences. All the work, products, fixtures were of high quality. Things went smoothly and relatively stress-free. I am very appreciative to David for making my renovation experience a big success

My husband was ill for many years, and as his needs changed our living area became a cluttered overcrowded hospital room. When he died at home I didn't want to live there anymore, but my house was"Upside Down" and I couldn't afford to move. David saved me, he took over, got rid of the clutter, threw out what didn't work, kept what did and changed the look of some good pieces by refinishing them in colors I liked. The walls were a dingy white, he made custom colors with the accent walls in deeper tones. Knowing I had a limited income, he scoured thrift stores for great furniture that not only fitted the space but me and my tastes. The accessories he picked brought it altogether transforming it into a home I was proud to show off to friends and neighbors. I even got several unsolicited offers for more than the appraised value, one wanted it fully furnished so he could rent it out seasonally. So I highly recommend David, whether you have a room you hate, a house that is dated, or if you are trying to sell a "Ho Hum " house to one that says " WOW" to prospective buyers.

Thank goodness for David Frauenheim and his gift of taking total chaos and turning it into the 'after' picture from the "Organize your Clutter" section of Home Beautiful magazine.
A busy life with 2 teens, 2 stores to manage and an animal rescue to direct, the "I'll get to this later" piles build up all around; counters, end tables, dining room table etc. Then the phone rings with news that the family, of course, the neat-nick side, is arriving on the weekend.
Past organizers have left me with more work then I started with; trying to find that important information that was on top and now is nowhere to be found. Possessions were stuffed into nooks and crannies and sometimes valuable broken.
I highly recommend David's organization services to anyone needing support with the cleaning and organizing of small to major home or office spaces.

After purchasing our Greenbelt townhouse in June 2019, we reached out to David Frauenheim of BeSmartHomes to help us with the remodeling project. We whole-heartedly recommend David for his professionalism, the quality of his design work, and for his fine designer’s eye. Perhaps most importantly, we appreciate the way he managed this renovation project and supervised contractors and their work in difficult times, through the pandemic until completion in December 2020.
From the outset of the project, starting December 2019, David demonstrated a collaborative and patient spirit. He welcomed our input as we shared photos and references for what we wanted our kitchen or bathroom or living spaces to look like. And he also gave us his own professional advice of how to make the most of our 2-bedroom townhouse. We went through three rounds of design drawings with David, and at each step we appreciated both his creativity and flexibility in providing options and in advising us on designs and costs that made the most sense.
As the project moved from design to demolition to remodeling, David was a terrific project manager, arranging the purchase of materials, the scheduling and mobilization of contractors, and a strict eye to the quality of the workmanship. At times, David even lent his talents in carpentry to finish off projects in order to keep the project moving and to keep costs contained.
To top it off, all of this work was done while we were living overseas. Yet we never felt out of touch as he was responsive at all times and made the thousands of miles that separated us seem like nothing. Through emails, and the sharing of drawings and photos as the project progressed, David kept us informed about issues that came up and the decisions that we needed to make.
We would highly recommend him.
